Azerbaijan rock-band "Charley ATL" was founded in 1987 and became first and for the time being the only band which is playing progressive art-rock of new wave. The founder of the band is Gunduz Bakili (Suleymanov) (vocal, rhythm-guitar) and his team: Stas Kalashnikov (bass), Pavel Bulak (programing, keyboard), Genadiy Gasimov (drums), Eduard Ten (guitar) a.k.a Edik*, Vahid Nahish (texts author) and Rafik Velimetov (guitar) became first of Azerbaijan rock-musicians who managed to create outlook of rock band, which is seriously working with musical form as well as poetic images. Unfortunately, the only serious work left on tape is album of 1990 "Jertvam Indiyskogo kino posvyashayetsya" (Devoted to the heroes of Indian movies), where we have recorded songs like "Shah Ismayil", "Korpa" (Infant), "Angola Jamaati" (Population of Angola), "Sakitlik-mahabbat" (silence-love) , "Good morning children", "Hapa-Hapa" and others. As a fully non-commercial project, leaders of "Charley ATL" became founders of first in Azerbaijan "live" audio-recording studio of new type like "ANS-records", which was leader on audio-recording market between years 1994-1998. But due to the irony of fortune, establishment of studio and working in the studio was the end for the "Charley ATL" band. Band stopped its activities in 1995.
